And to materialize the general idea, I folded a corner of the paper to show a piece of the back.

For those who would ask themselves the question, no, I didn't make filigrees on the whole back, only on the corner that we see:-)

Amor vincit omnia

Love overcomes everything
Virgil said it (not exactly in this form), I hope it's true.
In the meantime, a little monogram for friends who are going through difficult times.

I stay on letters about 2cm high, mixture of walnut stain and iron gall ink, the heart is gilded with gold leaf, the filigrees are done with iron gall ink.

Embossing & stained glass pattern

Finally something other than filigrees on this blog!

I invented a rather unstructured stained glass pattern that I embossed to accompany a text. I'm not saying any more at the moment, the work is far from over.

PIES

I can't get out of it.
I barely realized a few letters when they were bought or booked. I'm not complaining, let's be clear, but at this rate, I'll never have a complete alphabet to show!

HAKS

New little initials, just to regain taste and dexterity before relaunching myself into larger projects.

These patterns (and many others) will be taught during my course at the 38th International Calligraphy Congress of North America to be held this year in Sherbrooke (Quebec, Canada).

Oblique moon

After a few weeks of doubts, failures and trial and errors, I finally composed a new calligraphy on a text by Guillevic.
I deliver it to you very hot out of the workshop, even if the subject is quite cold ;-)

as in the first composition, it was made from walnut stain and iron gall ink, this time with a few gold-leaf dots to lighten and warm up the subject.
